Holy Moly Guacamole Simplified

I've always liked avocados, but lately, I have been LOVING them.  Just can't get enough.  Thank goodness they are about a buck a piece at Sam's Club!

Back in the day, I went through all the trouble of waiting until the avocados were ripe enough...  Smashed them all up until my arms were sore...  Cut up tomatoes and garlic until the kitchen was a mess...  30 minutes later, I had enough guacamole to last Mark and I a good 20 minutes.

My, how things have changed.

Spend a little extra time reading your bible or napping or curling your hair or whatever else you do for fun, because your time spent making crazy good guac just got shorter, folks.

Use this mix...  You can buy it at Hy-Vee or order it HERE.  It calls for two avocados, but I use three to stretch it a bit, and it is still phenom.  An added bonus is that the mix is all natural, no preservatives and gluten-free.  We're talking all veggies and spices.  It is a liquid mix (no powder), which makes the guac taste even more fresh.

Try this trick to peel and pit the avocado.  The knife thingy is the greatest.  Life-changing.

Don't bother cutting squares of avocado.  Just scoop it out all messy-like and dump in a food processor.  Dump all the Frontera mix in, too.

Run the processor forwards and backwards as the Spirit leads and until the guac is creamy.

You will be left with the most creamy, restaurant-tasting guacamole EH.VER.  That is a two-syllable "ever" for dramatic effect.

You're welcome.
I mean...  Enjoy!

PS - Add Tostitos Hint of Lime chips, if you want to splurge or if company's coming over.  I imagine the Lord will have Hint of Lime chips and Frontera in heaven.  They're THAT good.

Busyness & Notions

We've been really busy lately.  Really busy.  A trip to The Cities, another trip to my family's place, Easter, Young Life get togethers, a Dodge Ball tournament, vision meetings, prayer services, design orders, garage sales...  For an introvert, slower-paced sort of person, it has been nuts.

This week has slowed down a bit, which means I should have had some time on my hands to blog.  Should have.  BUT, I have been dreaming up a few design ideas I'm excited about.

I have also been dreaming up an idea that relates to my blog.  I'm thinking about structuring it a bit differently.  From random whim sorts of posts...to regular topics.  I think it might help me stay more focused and purposeful when it comes to shameless advertising and sharing my heart.

At the same time, please keep in mind that I am my mother's daughter.  And, my mother is totally my papa's daughter.  We come from a long line of dreamers and schemers.  If I had a nickel for every time my mom thought she had an earth-shattering idea or the next big invention, I would be a rich lady.  We'll see if anything comes out of my notions!

This makes me happy.

Dear Lord,

I would love a garden.  Soon?

Maybe?

Dodgeball Tourney Flyer Design

Tuesday is off to a great start.  More design is finished and printed and in my hands.  I am loving the Dodgeball font, aren't you?  I have a soft spot in my heart for O's that are roundish.

I don't think I've ever played dodgeball.  Is that weird?  If I were a high school student, I might actually be persuaded to play, given the sweet prizes.  iPads?!  What the heck?  Thanks to our generous sponsors.  You are fantastic!

Custom Adoption Thank You Postcard

I have been busy with custom ELLE JAY orders!  They've been so fun.  This was a postcard I did for my sister-in-law, Sara, who's in the process of adopting another little girl from China!

These postcards will be used as thank-yous for people who help their family in the adoption process.  I love the way they turned out.  And, I am SO excited to hug another niece!
