The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Fondue Party

My mom is the queen of parties.  When we come home, we usually have at least one if not two theme parties.  We all love decorating and crafting and we LOVE celebrating, so just about any occasion is a good enough reason to plan a party.  Over Christmas, we started out with a fondue party.  Mom planned cheese fondue with veggies, and chocolate fondue with desserts.  We started out with oil in the fondue pot to fry our own meats and cheese balls.  Sounds like fun, right?

It was not fun.

It was scary and dangerous and hazardous to our health and well-being.

Hot oil popped and spurted and splattered all over us.  When we were finally daring and brave enough to fry a tiny piece of chicken, we found out it tasted gross.  Oh, and I forgot to mention that the whole house smelled rotten McDonald's and week old greasy carnival food.

Good thing the good party count is still 783 to 1.

  1. Oh, I am so scared of spattered fat that I won't even fry a hamburger in a pan! Fondue is our Christmas Eve meal - we do a gruyere cheese fondue with chunks of ham, baguette, steamed broccoli, crisp red & yellow bell pepper strips, and boiled red potatoes. Yummy - and safe. :)

    Merry Christmas!
